Looks good . I heard that as Medic you have to drag the body to cover before revive . Not sure if this is real or rumour .

GTX 460 graphics isnt exactly over the top ! .. hope this isnt another CPU hungry game :(

Alpha access is based on your dedication to a site like Combat Testing, a proven ability to keep your mouth shut, and possibly also on your account sign-ups to BF play-4-free. In addition to which, as far as I was aware, as of last night no one in Aus had access yet.

It might be a bit late to go hunting for alpha access at this stage, but i'm grinding my teeth about it.

yeh i know what you mean, i actually played thruogh the play-4-free beta and leveled up an assault class... i thought it was crap lol.

judging from the server browser pic, it looks like DICE may be running alpha test locally in scandinavia. im keen to see it on a more powerful system though

Great to see some bloody green for a change, every war game for the past 6 years has been 13 shades of brown.

    Laguna Presa is green!

But yeah, colours will be nice. Also the modern urban environments will add some welcome contrast from the uniformly drab structures of BCB2.

I too would love a re-worked revive dynamic. Dragging bodies into cover would be a bit hard to code I think, but there's lots of ways they could make it better. Starting very simply by making the revive animation take time (and thus be more risky to the reviver). With their new supression dynamic it would seem a totally obvious idea to make supressed units unable to rez, and thereby make the support gunners so much more useful.

However, I've submitted these suggestions to the development teams of 2142 and BFBC2 as a beta tester (and I can't be the only one who has), and the insta-rez is still here, so I'm not getting my hopes up just yet.

That's a fair overclock on that Phenom II, stock clock is 3.4GHz. RAM is o/c too, along with the GPU "a little bit clocked".

Be good to get some more info on how it runs on that rig and if all the o/c'ing is required.

That rig should've been running playclaw! Then again, it's only the alpha build so it would've been pointless

judging by those screenshots I'm beginning to think that my old x9650 CPU and Geforce 460 is going to play this game just fine.

cheap water effects aside - it doesn't seem much different to BF:BC2 (look at that tank :/ )

hey are we allowed to have Alpha pics of this game here on TOG?

It is done in Arma 2. You can either drag the victim, or throw him over your shoulder and carry him (which gives the ability to shoot at the same time. But good luck hitting anything.;))

Here is an example of dragging the wounded. Just fast forward to 5 mins to see it:

Despite a lot of people thinking it is going to be just like BF2, it will be another BC2, only on a grander scale, with a number of modifications to game play and environment (ie prone, dragging the wounded out of the line of fire, flash lights on guns, suppressing fire effects, changes to the spawn system where you will only be able to spawn on the SL etc).

One thing I would love to see in Conquest mode, is the ability to turn off the flag indicator from flashing when the flag is being capped. If you hold a flag, and someone sneaks in to cap it, you can see that they are capping it from the other side of the map because the letter above it ([A], ,[C], etc) will flash. Unless you have line of sight to the actual flag, you should not be able to know that it is being capped imo. This will force teams to be more strategic, and force them to keep a close eye on the flag perimeter (ie leave someone behind to guard it).
How many times have all of us nearly solo capped a flag behind the enemy, only to have it ruined by the enemy seeing the flashing icon above the flag and returning to kill you before you can finish the cap?

A lot of comments regarding that jet footage say it is BFplay4free, and not BF3. I have never played BFplay4free, so I wouldn't know.

On second look I think you're right, I was thrown by the different flag markers.
