Battlefield 3 classes explained - Battlefield 3
Looks like they're returning more to BF2 style. Didn't see the logic behind a medic carrying a MG. I was almost always support in BF2 (unless I was tanking and then went Engi) and will probably do so again in BF3. I hope suppression is effective.
A couple quotes from the comments. Don't know if they are 100% accurate.
Yes i imagine the tonnes and tonnes of things will be DLC , but it is good the assault / medic
Good to see they have fixed the classes
Maybe a little bit disappointed there's no Spec Ops class, but nice to see (in the pic anyway) Engi with M4 carbine
Anyone know if there is the commander role in BF3?
their is no commander role... i think the squads will operate independently maybe SL to SL can comms
will have to be a work around somehow , TS and someone on an UAV doing some sort of overwatch. Somehow 32/64 guys running around like chooks would get messy fast ...
The traditional commander role has been confirmed as being out. But they have hinted to a new take on that role. It's just speculation, but it might be a computer controlled commander (a bit like Brink) that doles out objectives.
Can't wait for October 25....
I kind of like how Brink does it. The objectives wheel is there, and shows you what objectives you can complete. it distinguishes between primary and secondary objectives (that are optional). Choice is yours. You also get rewarded very well for completing objectives (bonus if you selected it first).
There's a good interview on the Battlefield blog, which came out today, and explains the classes / kits a little better. Link
It's a pretty good article for those that are interested.
Is it October yet??!!!!!
dam not yet
Seriously looking forward to playing Assault and Support.
Support and Recon.
