I'm in Adelaide for at least the next 2 months and have recently expanded my board/wargaming collection. As I only have one other gamer to play with, games like Twilight Imperium are going to waste. If anyone is in Adelaide, drop me a line if you're interested. Currently we have:

    Twilight Imperium
    Risk (new version)
    Axis and Allies: Guadalcanal
    Titan
    Heroscape

And, er, some other games that aren't in front of me right now.

    Cheers!

I've decided to update my last post, since I'm now living in Brisbane.

I have the following games now...

    Twilight Imperium
    Risk (new version)
    Axis and Allies: Guadalcanal
    Carcassonne
    History of the world
    Munchkin
    Space Munchkin
    Munchkin Fu

Anyone on the northside involved in a gaming group?

Carcassonne and Munchkin are two of my favourite games. I'm nowhere near Adelaide though so not much help :p

Munchkin! What a great game. I do miss playing it that's for sure. Too bad I'm not in Brisbane, I'll be around for a game for sure.

I'm Brisbane northside too - never played axis and allies, but I'd give it a go if we had a group.

    Also have
    Munchkins!! (standard, Fu, Cthuhlu)
Munchkin Quest (ie the board game of Munchkins)
    Battlestar Galactica
    Space Alert
    Pandemic
    City of Horror

And some lighter games like Saboteur, King of Tokyo, The Resistance, Bang!

Also, if you're in Brisbane and keen for some board gaming, theres a group who meet at Chermside library every Friday night - in fact, this week they are playing all Friday and into the night. Not sure if any of them play Axis and Allies (I think I saw it in someones box of games).

How many expansions do you have for Munchkin? LOL

I actually only bought it when it first came out, then bought Munchkin 2 when that came out, but I have seen that they have several expansions now, and several offshoots.

Only 2! Ok, and the board game...

Never actually played Fu or Cthulhu, just bought them originally because I like cheesy kung fu movies, and Lovecraft. Then I thought I would actually explore the base game a bit before trying the expansions.

Munchkins was my first step into the board gaming world (unless you count Monopoly as a kid). I thought it sounded goofy enough, and easy to play. Which is sort of true...the basic rules are ok - its just that half the cards have their own rules.

And Munchkin games seem to drag a little - as you argue over rules, and gang on on whoever is looking most likely to actually win. Still - it can be a lot of fun with the right group.

I've got quite a few board games myself :)
I've always had a soft spot for Twilight imperium, give me a shout if you're organizing a game

Game of Thrones card game? I suppose it's cheaper than the Game of Cards throne game. Anyway...

My immediate group are huge Munckin fans. We've (collectively) purchased Cthulhu (all editions), pirate, space, zombie, deluxe regular, western, and super hero. they are great

Fluxx has been another card game with themed expansions that was fun. The randomest game I've ever played. It also comes in Cthulhu, pirate, and space.

Also, anybody tried Risk: Legacy? My group bought a copy to try it, and after one game we all had to have one.

Finally got my copy of City of Horror on the table - and it was good fun! Its a game you certainly dont get the idea of from the rules. There are 4 turns (representing 4 hours before rescue from the zombies), and each turn you get to move 1 of your characters (6 player game, we had 3 characters each).

It sounds like it would be all over in about 10 minutes, but each character has a special ability (but then they are worth less at the end of the game, assuming they survive of course). Then each location has a special ability, and finally you have action cards with abilities.

As the game progresses, more and more zombies pour into the city, death becomes inevitable, and so you frantically attempt to influence others to vote with you (and throw someone else to the horde).

Definitely going to give it some more play, first time was tough at first.

Also been playing a lot more Space Alert - that game is a lot of fun. Even failing is fun!

And speaking of Space Alert, this is pretty cool
