The Radscorpions attacked from the outside I'm pretty sure, as I found two dead outside while 3 more burrowed inside.

You know the island off the east coast?

Well once you clear it and turn on the power you can turn it into a settlement.

However the border of where you can build is LITERALLY THE WHOLE ISLAND

    Yeah the whole fricking thing.

Currently in proccess of placing a sea wall made of concrete shack foundation...
Using the mat mod/settlement bats mods to do it. Good thing too used over 2000 wood just to do a 3rd of the first layer of wall.

I have activated it as a settlement, however do you get additional settlers coming to the island.

There is no land entry point (being that it is an island) and I don't know if this contributes to additional people joining the settlement (will have to check tonight in game if I have more people there).

I agree though, the build area is the entire island :)

Is there a mod that shows you whether a settler is assigned to something other than targeting them and having the resource they work highlight? It's really tough (and frustrating) to figure out what's assigned if they're not standing right next to it.

At a glance in Nexus, I did not see a mod to that effect, sadly. I agree it is most annoying trying to see whom is assigned to what.

Now days I only keep track of whom is on guard duty, I track 3-4 settlers max now. Let the rest do as they will.

And since I tend to go overboard with defenses (Rocket Turrets and lots of them) I rarely get attacked.

A friend of mine had a pretty awesome idea for keeping track of our Settlers. If you're a packrat (like I am) you pick up everything - so I have a ton of pipe pistols. Rename a pistol to "Defense" or "Tato Farmer" and give it to your settler and then assign them to the task. If you want to check to see if you assigned someone a task, trade with them.

I think the biggest problem I'm having with settlements atm is settler / minutemen A.I. I make an awesome looking fortification only for the npc's to stand around looking lost or stuck in/under stairs, falling through floors and all manner of things they should not be doing.

I give mine uniforms. My farmers get Road Leathers plus welding goggles for example. Scavengers get hard hats, etc.

the radscorpians probably didn't appear inside the walls but used their ability that's like mole rats to dig inside
