And Fids, RA3? Come on, the Tiberian series was always going to be a trilogy and bred the Red Alert series, Kane was an advisor in Red Alert.

    KANE LIVES!

Thanks all, excellent stuff and seriously looking forward to it. :D

For those who haven't played the series yet, Command & Conquer The First Decade is the DVD version of all the C&C games from the first one, great value.

Great news. I just got a flashback of those eight to ten hour sessions playing the first C&C. Can't wait.

I thought about buying C&C: 1st Decade, but heard it was all games stuffed onto the DVD without any concern of running on today's machines. Mostly, they were very crash prone or would not launch at all. I believe a patch is in the works, though it'd be worth investigating before re-living C&C. I was looking forward to this compliation too..

Hadn't heard that Triton6. I actually have all of them individually so haven't bought the DVD, but I just saw it and thought it'd be good value for all of'em.

The latest issue of the U.S. PC Gamer had a 1 page article/review of this and mentioned some of the games lock up (red alert I think) while none of the others were updated to allow LAN gaming in WinXP. I don't have it front of me at the moment, but it said a patch was in the works & prolly would be released at presstime.

I have all of the original C&C games (except renegade) but getting those original games to work on XP looked like a lot of work, so I bought the first decade collection. i have only played the very original so far, but it has been working perfectly first time with no problems. I have downloaded the now-available patch, but havent installed it yet.

The game still has great gameplay... graphics are obviously about a decade old, but that doesnt take away from the game.

Excellent, this will start enough interest so that we can start up the c&c forum again!
