FilePlanet has an open beta of it now. I don't think you even need to be a registered member now for it either.

Game has gone gold. Due for release around the 11th of September. There is an open (multiplayer) beta, but keys are as rare as hens teeth (they arn't giving them out anymore). They released a demo with PC-gamer magazine a few weeks ago. You can get it (legally) via bittorrrent. Check www.relicnews.com for the torrent. It's 1.5 gig.

I played the single player demo. Very short, but the game seems awesome. It's just beatiful to look at, and, somehow, just plain entertaining. The enviroments react fantastically to the battle, buildings crumble with explosions, tanks bash through walls and buildings, sending rubble flying. The resource system seems to work well. If you can imagine the capture points in BF2 giving you resources rather than capture points, you'll have some idea. Also, you need to keep your captured areas "Joined together" to get resources, simulating supply lines. They seem to have struck a good balance with micromanaging and strategy, with the AI behaving in a realistic manner. You don't need to mess around with assigning peons to resources or building alot of buildings to get upgrades. The emphahsis is on strategy and action, and just seems "fun", rather than being a labourious clickfest. Very very professional single player campaign, with cutscenes crossing seemlessly into the action, excellent voice acting and CGI. Very atmospheric.

Might just be the next big thing in RTS's. Have to see how multiplayer pans out.

Just played a 2 hour stint.

I was pushing the Gerries back, and held an area, town hall and church and three bridges.
Next mission I had to defend the three bridge's against the counter push by the hun.
They took my bridges and destroyed my town hall :(
I found myself sad after a two hour effort. :(
But next thing I know, I hold on to my final post (the church) for 5 minutes and this CG video kicks in....

It's the armour corp...yayyyyy! They made it up through from the beaches at Normandy and backed me up. I found myself physically punching the air and crying out an allmight loud 'YESSSS'

    This game is just stunning!

It's due for release Thursday 28th September here in OZ. I preordered it baout 3 weeks ago and got a card for the beta from Electronics Boutique here in Goulburn. I went in yesterday and they gave me a DVD with the single player demo. I needn't have DL'd the 1.75GB after all.
I find that going back and viewing the replays of my defeats assists in learning strategies.
Apparently the online multiplayer beta games are finishing up on Friday, 29th September.

    How come ?

Just wondering after all the praise everybody else has given it. I was looking at buying it, but if you think I'm a dickhead for doing so tell me and save me money. ;)

OK fellow TOG's I have the CoH too, now !!

I am getting hammered at Carenten trying to take the Square of the 6th Falschimerger (sp?) and I am being funnelled into a narrow kill zone full of MG 42's , snipers . The boundary only allows one way in.. So far I have lost 30 troops . I don't think the General is going to be happy with me !!

It's very immersive and well thought out and the cut-scenes are amazing ..

It's KA in my dictionary !!

I'm really enjoying this game, good change from other games and its set in WW2 which for me is a big bonus! :)
I would say to anyone that this is worth a look at.

Man, I am up to Holding that Square for half an hour where you have to take out those rocket sites as well, I get down to about 12 minutes, and their infantry/firesoldiers/tank rush just nails me :(
