I was playing on Karkand the other day when I was called a 'wanker' by one of your members - Tog Drae. I'd never heard of the bloke until that moment. This was completely unprovoked and uncalled for and I was thinking about reporting it to Internode, but as I'm a nice guy I'll let him off this time.

Heres a screen shot of the event:

Thanks for bringing it up here B_F :) I will make sure the Division Captains are made aware of it and will get back to you.

As Dars said this has been passed to the DC, so please leave this to the DC to sort out.

    Bullet,

Thanks for the post. This has been looked into by the BF2 DC's and TOG admins, I have also spoken to Drae about it. I/TOG don't encourage or agree with our members getting involved in any kind of verbal abuse for any reason. In this particular case there seems to be some actions relating to un-cap spawn camping leading up to the event that sparked the comment.

All I can say to you is that I am sorry you have taken such offense to this and hope that this does not happen again. I trust we can leave it at that.

    Regards,

    TOG|-X-SeSiV BF2 DVC

    Bollocks!!!

**Edit**''I just thought about my first post...

Was Drae validated in calling a guy a wanker? IMO probably Yes!

So should he apologise IMO...No! No matter what someone else from another clan or demi clan might say. Drae has his rep in TOG and IMO, that's all right with me.

If it's his opinion, then it's good to put forward.

GEEZA, it's one thing calling someone a wanker, it's another doing it with your TOG tags on. As a clan we try to promote ourselves as being 'above all that', and in my experience 99% of the time we do a great job fulfilling that goal.

It's hardly the end of the world when it happens, and I'm no saint, I've done it myself. However we, as a clan try not to do it, and I've learned to play BF2 without my tags most of the time because I can't trust myself to refrain from verbally abusing those who don't play fairly.

There's probably not much need to have a massive debate about it as it's all there in the AUP. If you think the AUP needs changing then perhaps a thread in the private section would be more appropriate.

Whether an apology should be made would be entirely down to Drae and the TOG staff, it's not really a public debate.

Easy there mate, My comment was about the state of things when someone is crying about being called a wanker. That's not abusive. You have to string three or four good obscenities together before it is good and abusive.

Since seeing that lovely tirade (from a non-togger) that TOG_51stAlpha posted a screen-grab of in the BF2 sub-forum, I'm not impressed by Drae's language one bit. ;)

I don't think wanker is that offensive in any way personally and IMO I don't think Internode would take a complaint based on that very seriously especially given both sides of the story.

Just let this die please guys - not worth wasting time on this...

This kind of mud slinging is not on guys, just because you have a bad impression about someone it does not mean it is right to behave like this on a public part of the TOG forum, nor should TOG members be calling any body names. We are supposed to be the mature gaming community.
I am locking this thread now as it is an embarrassment to TOG, Bullet_Force sort this out with -X-SeSiV- via PM.
