    Greets, clubhousers.
You may (or may not) have noticed that the console division now has an events calendar.
All SLs (and DVC) have access to be able to create, edit and generally fartarse around with calendar events - if you have members of your chosen hardware's flock who want to organise get-togethers to hunt, shoot, run each other over, or otherwise kill/mame/dismember/humiliate each other, then they can do so, and also have the option of making it an "official" TOGcc event by having it placed on the calendar - which they need to do through you.
I'll put an announcement post in the main console forum too.

Maybe we could co-ordinate joint gaming nights where the same event is run for both consoles at the same time.

This would reduce confusion on the gaming/which console front.

OK, so I tried this out, but I'm not really sure what the result was. I tried to make an event (for the RDR get together Saturday/Sunday (this multi-continental thing can be a pain)) and it told me it needed moderator approval. (This was last Saturday BTW, 1-22-11) I figured that wasn't a big deal, but again, I not altogether familiar with how the inner workings of TOG operates. I don't even know if it posted or was approved.

So, I guess my questions are as follows:

    1. Do we need over all Mod approval or do division Mods (you guys) have the power?
    2. How far in advance do we need to plan for these things?
    3. Where exactly does this event show up? On the calendar under Console events?
    4. Will the organizer of the event be notified that it has been approved/posted?

That's all I can think of at the moment. :)

We shouldn't. I asked that it be set up in such a way that all SLs could post events.
    AFAIK, it should be instant.
Yes, that was the idea. That's where it should show up
    See points 1-3.
    I'll investigate.

OK, I just posted a dummy RDR shootout thing for Sunday afternoon 1-3 AEST, it seemend to work flawlessly, but then, I'm a DC. You guys as SLs should have the same right.
I'll query it with the modmins.

OK, I tried again to set one up for 2-5-11 with the same result. (Thought I might have stuffed it up on my end previously)

BTW, how does the calendar work with our opposite ends of the world situation? Does it post your "date" on Sunday or do we still have to work it out manually? -- Nevermind, it does it auto-style....

2nd of May? why so far ahead? ;)
    (yes, I know. I'm kidding)

It's obviously not working as it should, it's just been copied from the birthday calendar, so I'm presuming that's why it needs moderating. I've posted in the office to have it looked at (and have all the birthdays removed. They've got their OWN calendar!)
