I get the same feeling seeing their combat as I did with SWTOR. I think people's comparisons are pretty apt. It looks like a similar game that doesn't know what it wants to be.
Once again I am tuning into what is going on with ESO. This thread has grown a lot since I last checked it. But I hope to read everything that everyone posted. Misc Nukluk Ramblings: I missed my early Sep stress test invite as I hadn't checked my email in awhile. I am quite sad over that. But at least I could still follow the breadcrumbs and set up my beta account for the next invite. I need to dust off Skyrim and tinker with it before ESO launches. The older I get, the less I am able to retain muscle memory for various game play styles. Re-entering Skyrim is daunting as I have maybe 200+ MODs. I probably need to start 100% over with updated mods and then layer in the necessary ones I already have.
What I'd like is a set of 'Make Skyrim Look Absolutely Awesome' mods that work well together. There doesn't seem to be a definitive pack of such, which is kinda understandable, due to the complexity of the texture mods...
Anyone know what Alliance they wanna go? I'm thinking DC cause I wanna be a warrior type char so Orc and Redguard sound good to me. What about everyone else?
DC for the exact same races. I'm torn between a warrior type and a dual-wielding sneaky bowman. I've been dabbling in the lore of the Redguard and I like what I see. I'm keenly interested in the Akaviri/Tsaesci influences in the Redguard and am hoping to get some nice katanas early on in ESO. In Skyrim I've mostly played Norn, Orsimer and Argonian because I like their appearances best. Edit: On a side note, I dusted off Skyrim and somehow bugged my new character out at level 6 (and didn't save often enough to have an unbugged version). When I assigned his skill-up point, he skilled up again, and again, and again... and just kept skilling. I was stuck on the point-spending screen, even after killing/restarting the game several times. I guess I will start over once more.
I hope this turns out well it has a lot of promise. I was a huge fan of DAoC and the three faction system sounds awesome.
AD Always loved playing a Bosmer Archer. although, I also did enjoy a 2-handed axe orsimer, and a destruction magic dunmer.
My current Skyrim character is a Wood Elf Archer, the one before that was a Breton Spellsword, (well spellaxe, actually, but minor detail... ) and the one before that a Nord Assassin/Thief. I think I can cover any faction and any playstyle.
I was coming to see if anybody posted it yet. I can't wait to make my character, looks like they are providing a lot of options for it.
I really like the look of this one. I've always wanted to play a dark elf in games but they always seem to put barriers in the way, we'll have to see how it goes here. Certainly one to keep a close eye on anyway
There's talk ... and right now it's just talk but I'm personally optimistic that it'll happen ... about getting a TOG sponsored division organized when we get closer to the actual TESO launch. Whether that would mean one guild or three to populate all three in-game factions remains to be determined. There will probably be an "official" public forum on the subject and I'll make sure to post a notice of that here if/when it happens.
