Ever had a refund??

    hi all

    Ok,

    My son wanted to get Ship Simulator Extreme so i bought it today for him, only to find that the game loads in in another language and i cannot change it and after reading forums and trying different things the game remains in German.

    I sent a question to them and waiting for a reply but i have also read that people rarely get a refund for their purchases.

    Has anyone had any luck getting a refund or steam credit after a failed purchase?????

    Also in my experience steam usually take one or two days to reply, but they always get back

    I have only needed one refund from steam and it was done within a day, it took one message and was very easy.

    I accidentally bought the same game twice.
    Due to a VERY slow email confirming purchase, I didn't realise the mistake.
    I requested a refund for one of the games and got nowhere, even though it hadn't been installed.

    I had a tech support issue once with Steam. They gave unhelpful canned responses without reading my email and took 10 days to do so! It took them over 3 months to not fix my issue. I eventually gave up and found some answers on a non steam forum. When I complained on the Steam forums all the steam loser fanbois jumped in and abused me for being unhappy with poor service.

    In my experience.

    Steam are great for prices and convenience.


    Steam are abysmal at customer service.

    I've had both incredibly bad/useless and incredibly good/stellar experiences with Steam support - like all support operations, it comes down to a combination of who is handling your request at their end and how well you advocate your case; if either part of that equation fails, the experience tends to be negative. :(

    I purchased a retro game collection a while ago and it didn't work.

    I wrote to steam support and they refunded my money. The reason was the game was only compatible with an earlier version of Windows, however they also made it clear that a refund was a once only occurrence and that in future I should check for compatibility, and will not get another refund next time.

    yer, i got a refund/credit for NFS Shift.

    got a ticket, couple of follow up emails then all was good.

    I did not get a refund, however they some how internally fixed the issue for me.

    Happy with outcome, well for my son anyway.
