4 days to go and i am trying to complete A C Syndicate
Recommend really making sure you sink in some time to "hook" yourself a little bit. Sometimes you really need to struggle through the start to get enjoying yourself in game.
Normally being made redundant would be a bit of a downer, however it just so happens that FO4 is out next week so I think this time round I am just going to take some time off before looking for more work.
Get lost in the world of Fallout!
Steam preload is up, 23.8GB.
I've got 2.5 weeks of holiday time to give it my best shot. I quite enjoyed the character creation of 3. I just lost focus once you got 'outside'. Perhaps I felt a little lost in the open world and never quite engaged with it.
For me, visual stimulation goes a long way to creating an immersive environment. From images and video I've seen so far, it looks like a world I'd enjoy exploring.
Pretty sure i will be playing 12 hours straight when released lolz.
Sleep is for the weak!
yeah i'm fully expecting to disappear into "new boston" for a few weeks only emerging back into this "real world" for food and more coffee. wife is already planning to have to do everything herself for a while
12 hours in the character creator you mean.
Pre-load on Steam now available.
*sigh* no one reads down *cough* Purg *cough*
Yeah might take some time to create. Hopefully less now that i have done all the wondering on stats this past week.
Making the faces, well that will take the bulk of the time now
And My CE edition is on the way as well. Copy going to bro for early xmas pressy. Pip Boy going on wall
You're confused lava
1. Engineers don't read
2. It's up not down, (we've been over this)
3. Pip boy goes on your arm.
If the preload takes ~25 GB of space, do you then need another 25 GB on launch day to decrypt it?
The Steam page suggests 30GB of available space as a minimum requirement. Given that the preload seems to consist of multiple files no larger than 1GB, it would be reasonable to presume that once it's decrypted a file, that file is deleted.
To be on the safe side, I'd probably still plan for a few more GB above 30 free.
Around 10 more hours...
Fallout 4 PS4 Has Severe Frame Rate Issues, According To Reports
Not surprised it has frame rate drops on a console version but didn't expect to see anything that severe.
Also has a few other bugs it seems, pretty standard for a Bethesda game unfortunately.
Hopefully the PC version is stable.
As i pointed out in another post the "DAY ONE" updates that you require before you can even play a game have been huge lately ... What they are doing in some cases is they let you download the single player side of game then once it launches then you get the multiplayer part and decryption files to unlock game.. Normally the decryption stuff is only a couple of 100mb or so...
You only get 1 disk now when many games are requiring 2 , they force you to download the rest which saves them costs.. I would definitely allow for a huge initial update as these were the past ones to date
Thief - Was about 7.5gb
Batman: Arkham Knight - Approx 5gb
Halo 5 Guardians - Was between 10 to 15gb depending on versions
Witcher 3 - Was 15 gb on consoles
Assassin Creed Syndicate - Was the smaller one at 500mb
Black Ops 3 - 2.5gb to 3.0gb
Solid 30fps?! Glad I got it on PC then - at least, I hope the PC version isn't locked to 30fps?
Unrealistic deadlines appear to be plaguing AAA titles the last few years. Must get them out for the Christmas period to maximise sales on a date we stated 6 months ago. Going gold used to mean ready for manufacture and the programmers take a well earned break, ready to deal with unintended bugs once the wider community gets their hands on it. I'd place a sizeable bet that the Fallout 4 team are still working on bugs as we speak.
Given that it's a SP only game, I'm hoping it's solid enough to be playable. It's normally the MP aspect that has the most problems in newly released games these days.
From what I have heard a rather large download from steam if you get a disc version for PC around 20GB
Day 1 Patches
Steam, preload 23.7GB + 300MB Patch so far (compressed).
FPS is not locked on PC. How optimised the game ends up being is anyone's guess. We will find out in 4 hours.
