Hi cyclosarin, welcome to the TOG forums!

Fallout is probably more RPG than shooter but you can definitely post info in this forum if you wish.. and thanks for doing so, there are a quite a few dedicated Fallout fans around here :)

I missed the cheap pre-purchase option on Steam - and there's no way I'm paying double just for being tardy... But might look into some of the more affordable options available if the feedback is positive.

Strange though - saw an ad on tv for it last night! We're really seeing a societal change when games are going that mainstream! :)

I was never one for rpg games but this is a quite good mix of rpg / fps. Pity it's not multiplayer.

fantastic game - a few bugs to get sorted but still very enjoyable. I have finsihed it and a "nice" NCR faction player - now running again as a not so nice - might go Legion or stick with Mr House 8)

Also changed to melee weapons rather than guns - seem to be able to take out mobs more easily now. Also turned hardcore mode on - makes healing a little more interesting 8)

Hardcore FTW! I have played the entire game with it turned on. I found the inventory management a little odious at first as I like to keep a nice variety of ammo and weapons on my person at all times. :) After realising my companions could carry stuff I used them to lug my spare ammo, some back up water and a few nibbles. ;)

Though with a decent survival skill you could subsist completely off the land and with high enough stats you can cook up stim packs from berries and fruit, create food stuffs far beyond what you can scrounge etc.

I think for my next play through I'll I try to live completely off the land and
    take over the strip myself.:D

yup inventory could be a little bit better - and I found the crafting side a bit lacking as well - hopefully all sorted by Fallout 4 time 8)

Im on my second play through now and have just clocked 136 hours, i love the game but i still think fallout 3 was better. I hope they bring out some decent DLC's for it like they did fallout 3

Great fun game, all the bugs and launch hiccups soured it for me quite a lot but the play through was grand and it kept me interested long enough to hit 50/50 achievements.

Will be re-gifting it to one of my mates sons for x-mas, there is even an unused classic dlc code in the box.

Unless I'm mistaken it's a Steam game (even if bought through retail), thus you can't re-gift it as it's tied permanently to your Steam account.

    Its all good Thermal :)
    a) It's an xbox 360 copy.
    b) Its his steam account anyway but I use it 99% of the time. (Dont think he has logged on more than once)

Didn't consider that, probably being as the only console around here is a PS2.
