The picture shown (the one with the mosque) is, and I am quoting Demize99 here:
"concept art not a screenshot. The goal is to prove the direction, not depict a map we already have laid out."
Thought that was strange to see...

Spectr8, I enjoy BF and I enjoy fast player movement. I'm hoping they combine both in BF3

The movement was just fine in all the BF games, I dont want it end up being MW2 superspeed run, that was seriously ridiculous, and I did not play any of that line long because of it.

those large maps wouldn't feel so large then ... and if a noob steals a humvee leaves you behind you can always catch up :)

    Love that vid. :)

That would have to be the PC version by the way, very doubtful it's a console version. For advertising reasons they'd use the best looking version being PC. Plus the movement has a lot of dynamic vertical adjustments typically seen by a mouse user.

The console versions have had separate rendering engines built for each (360 and PS3) which is good news for PC users. All signs point to the PC version being the primary engine. They talk about some of the limits in rendering and memory use in the DICE publications. Particularly with the 360 version they had to pull a lot of stuff out.

I think the wording they use is very promising. Where Crytech was "if we couldn't build it on the consoles we didn't build it in the engine" with CryEngine3, DICE have so far been "If we couldn't build it on the consoles we had to pull it out of that version of the engine".

It is also interesting to note they have gone to a lot of trouble for optimisation to the point of reviewing the post compiled assembly language as part of the Quality Assurance. They talk a lot about Data Oriented Programming rather than Object Oriented as well which does seem to make sense for developing games. :)

The only downside so far which I read a while ago (I will try and chase this up) is it is unlikely for them to support modding in Frostbite 2. I think it was mentioned it is due to the complex nature of the engine. Since they seem to have a higher focus on workflow lately perhaps this has changed though.

LMAO for sure...... that is why you steel a humvee though, to get away, not be caught by some guy on foot.

It will be interesting to see how this game goes through the Ratings Board here in Australia, particularly with graphic first person scenes like the one chasing the wire (around 8 minutes in).

Looks as though operation metro is rather linear:

And I read somewhere that Rush will be 32 player only. I wouldn't be surprised that conquest (which will be 64 player) will have 6 man squads. Or maybe I am just being overlly optimistic...
Anyway theres a good interview with Lars Gustafson on Battleblog. Linky
