Now that the window for LTI has passed, I'm sure there will be other interested members later on who, for whatever reason, have not already backed (I know, crazy talk right?). So to that end, I thought it might be useful to provide a place for people in that situation to coordinate with existing original or veteran backers in order to arrange gifting of LTI packages and/or ships. If you're willing to help out or want to know about how it all works just post away. Alternatively, I'm happy to help directly if you'd prefer to communicate via PM.

I'm late to this party, and missed the opportunity to get LTI with my Digital Mercenary package that I purchased last night. With the news that there are other ways to achieve this end, and with all of you learned folk out there that have no doubt done numerous hours of research, what should be my next move? I'm happy to increase the amount I've already committed ($40.00) if it means there's some limited edition fandangled ship that I may be able to procure in the process, and it wasnt till i purchased this packaged that I realised I was actually after the Bounty Hunter ship anyway, so either way, I'll be melting my current purchase Edumacate me brothers and sisters
You could reclaim that pack for credit and then get one of the veteran/original backers to gift you the new package with LTI. Then use the credit for other items etc. The only downside as such in your case is spending the extra cash - another $60. Or if you'd rather not spend too much extra, gift the existing pack back to the person gifting you the LTI enabled one so they can use the credit instead and then it's only a difference of $20 or so. Also note that there is a 24hr cool down on gifting so the whole process may take a day or two. Plenty of ways to go about it and I'm sure any one of us here will be happy to help a fellow pilot enter the fray
There are ways to do this and some people on the RSI forums are willing to do it for free even. Those of us who have been in from the start and have LTI can be gifted a non LTI package, we reclaim it, then purchase the LTI version, and a few extras as the price for new backers is higher. We then gift the items back to the person who sent the non LTI package.
Paypal is not required. MarcT method is perfect - see below. BTW I check the prices for digital packages with LTI & with limited - the prices seem to be the same.
I'd love to work out an arrangement with someone, I came late to the party and didn't get a chance to back a package with LTI. I'll pop back in mid next week when I'll be in a position to pick up a package!
Wen, not exactly. It looks like ship prices alone are the same, but the package prices are different. If you go to the store not signed in, you see Packages > New Backers Under here you see a Digital Bounty Hunter for $65 or a Rear Admiral for $275. When I log in, as an Original Backer, I see the Digital BH with LTI for $60, and the RA with LTI for $250 If you look at just the ships themselves, then the Constellation is $225 regardless of New or Original Backer, but Original and Veteran Backers get LTI. Note: I'm not sure what the costs are of packages for Veteran Backers, they might be the same as New, and I'm not sure if you are Original or Veteran.
There you go, if anyone wants a LTI package cheaper than Veteran prices, contact one of us Original backers and we can make it happen. This is for Packages only, additional ships are the same price regardless of backer status, but only Vet and Original can get you LTI.
