Hi Everyone I’m quite the late bloomer in gaming, lots of time on my hands (I usually play from 3 to 6 or 7 PST, but that’s totally flexible), really keen, a Battlefield fan, and pretty much a rock-solid newbie. I had a long career in the arts and then retired to the west coast. A few years back I started playing offline games like Mass Effect 3 on PS3 but soon got completely hooked on PC based online gaming. I particularly got lured into FPS, built my own PC (totally fun), then started trying my hand at BF1 (fun-ish, in an ego-crushing sort of way). In between occasional online efforts (it got a bit better when I mainly stuck to “hand out ammo/go prone/repeat ad infinitum”) I’d follow tutorials on TheBrokenMachine and practice shooting on CSGO AimBotz. The hardest thing I’ve found is to connect with other players, which has definitely proven itself to be challenging. But I’m really stoked to practice and learn and participate, and ultimately just have a good time with likeminded gamers.
