Help me decide – Half life 2 (includes Source) or Call of Duty
I have been looking at a new MP game to hook my teeth in to (BF is still the main love for me :D ) Can anyone give me feed back on the MP aspects of the games and try and relate them to BF is you have played the game as I LOVE BF.

And by the way Half life 2 is only 69.99 at Target until the 2 Dec

Sleighty, I have both games and as you know I also play a little BF :) .

HL2 Retail version - Doesn't come with mp yet but is rumoured to be available through Steam as bonus next week. It does have Counter Strike: Source which is mp.
HL2 Steam Silver version - This is the one I purschased as it has the above + Valve's back catalog but will also include when its available Day of Defeat: Source (WWII).
I am looking forward to Dod:S as it will more then likely be my next main FPS. The HL2 engine has a great feel imo. Dod:S is due for release end of 04 or early 05.
Call of Duty - Its not to bad but I'm not a big fan of the feel of Quake 3 modded games but its still a fun game, it just didn't grab me like BF & HL2 has.

Imo its better to buy HL2 through Steam online as you get more for your money.

HL2 Retail version = HL2 and Counter Strike: Source for $70
HL2 Silver steam version = HL2, Counter Strike: Source, Day of Defeat: Source + Valve's back catalog (total of about 14 games) for $85

My concern with BF2 is that Dice will f#$k it up like they have with BF:V.

I hope I'm wrong because it looks good.

I bought CoD about 6 weeks ago and have been playing multiplayer about 6 hours a day every day.I find it brilliant to play with the other TOGgers as this does add to the overall experience.I have played multiplayer so much I haven't had time to complete any single player missions.

Should be OK there Odo :)

BFv was made by Dice Canada and 1942 was made and BF2 will be made by Dice Europe, so we should be in safe hands 8) and they have the fine peeps from Trauma Studios in there now as well.

    Cheers

I own both HL 2 and COD and play a lot of BFV. I'd recommend HL 2.

Most definitely Call of Duty United Offensive. I play both CODUO and (occasionally) BFV. CODUO is much simpler, and allows for more styles of gameplay. Even though the Call of Duty series has been out a little while (not as old as MOH), and the new pack has a couple bugs that are being addressed in the upcoming patch, CODUO has a much larger fanbase than most of the other current FPS games. When you pick up your copy of COD and CODUO, come see us in the COD division.

HL2 is a great single player game. CS source is OK. I think theres been a resurgence of TOGers interested in playing CS-Source....And it looks good and plays well on most machines. And it was mentioned that MP HL2 may be released this upcoming week.

However I think CoD has more MP options, Mods, and a bigger online fan base at the moment. This may change if HL2 releases MP of TFC.

Just get both. CoD is very cheap right now, I think I saw it for like 20$ at Bestbuy. HL2 is defeniatly worth it, greatest game I have played in a long time. Just spectatular in every way.

What are you talking about WarBear? Team Fortress or completely new HL2 Mods? I can't wait till some creditable mods begin to appear for HL2. MP with Grav Gun.... 8O

HL2 should be soon without mods, having MP as an option. CO-OP though, not DM.

There are no DM maps in the game.
