I have been flying IL2 for some time and find it has a lot of variety. Apart from flying against other people you can fly co-op against AI panes. With a group you can do more than just simple dogfights. Missions can be run against ground targets (ships, road convoys) in multi crew bombers or as individual planes.

If you, or anyone else for that mater want to fly, give me a call.

I'm keen to have a run. Give me a few days to get up to scratch and we can have a dogfight sometime later next week.

Another option instead of COGS...use Hyperlobby

    http://hyperfighter.jinak.cz/

Normally 10-30 games already underway that you can join. I've found IL2 to be very forgiving with ping times.

Whilst I'm writing this post....427 games of IL2FB are up.

Looking forward to playing some LOMAC online.

Yes, HL is an option. I generally find the games on HL have the difficulty setting harder and the players a little fanatical which doesn't always make for an enjoyable game. The GA serer should be good for those new to the sim to try a public server and still be comfortable.

Also of all those servers on HL most will be private users so the games are restricted to about 2 players. Beyond that and lag does become a problem. Being a GA server I would presume it will handle a lot more.

Another Aussie server is run by Internode, but I have trouble getting onto that one.
