    Hi there,

I'm looking to apply to your group! I'll start by going in to a little about myself and then the reasons why I'd like to join.

I'm 38 years old living in the Northwest Arkansas region. I work in the corporate world starting as a software developer and now as the lead for a group of developers at the home office of a major retailer. I've been a developer for most of my life, writing my first simple application for school in the 7th grade with Turbo Pascal. I'm married, no kids, and my wife enjoys playing many of the same games as I do (score!). We are also both avid poker players, and if we're not at home playing games you might find us at the local casino at the tables or at a friend's home game nearby. We've also loved pen & paper in the past, specifically with AD&D and Shadowrun. Been quite a few years since we've done that though.

I've also been a gamer most of my life. I started with the 2600 like a lot of you, and made my way up through various consoles until I got my first PC (486DX). Wolf3D and then Doom were the first two titles to really get me in to FPS games. Over the last few years I've really found myself drawn to co-op/survival and/or open-world games and enjoy group-think and tactics to overcome. I don't particular care for battle royale or PVP (except with Eve Online - love that one), but I've been known to dip my toe in them and check them out with the right group of friends.

The primary reason for wanting to join your group is the premise of playing with a group of individuals around the same maturity level. While I'm certainly no prude, as I've gotten older I've found it's hard to relate to many of the younger kids online and have resorted to playing mainly solo or only with a few select friends to be able to enjoy the social nature of these games. I've been a part of several great groups/guilds/corps in the past, but due to life events over time they have wound down or disappeared. I'm still friends with several people from those days, but I'm thinking that in order to establish a lasting circle of gaming friends it's time to look outside the small ecosystem of an individual game to a larger collective that exists over several of them. And that leads me to you!

My current rotation of games are the following:
    • Killing Floor 2 (Have a rented server)
    • Path of Exile
    • Diablo 3

We regularly move back to the following titles from time to time:
    • Eve Online (when the itch hits - played for 3 years)
    • 7 Days to Die
    • Payday 2
    • Warframe
    • Stellaris
    • Terraria (only myself, she doesn't like this one)
    • R6: Siege
    • The Division
    • Wurm Unlimited (We have a rented server - yes I still pay for it even though we're not currently playing. Just can't let our world go...lol)

Games we haven't played in a while, but might be tempted to go back to with a group:
    • World of Warcraft (played 2.5 years starting with Vanilla)
    • Final Fantasy XIV
    • The Forest
    • World of Warships
    • Warhammer: Vermintide 2

Let me know if you think I'd be a good fit or would like to talk more about it!

OMG when you mentioned the 486 I immediately went back in time to that 486 dx2 66 POS and now all that counseling has gone to waste. Batch files! Himem! Lomem! Damn it! Anyhoo seeing as you have done that you will probably make Boner pretty happy and he will let you in so I'll just do it while I am here ;)
