Yep, I found the jettisonable tank mounts. I only used I-beams at the time because I couldnt make tanks go onto the mounts, still getting the hang of that. On the bright side, I've finally got a use for the DPI switch on my mouse, that helps a little getting things into place.

I haven't fully got the hang of decouplers yet, it seems most of the time when I use them, there's a big gap between in and the next object, sometimes when I put them in place a shroud goes on automatically. I've just started using interstage decouplers (the big cylindrical ones) thats the only way I can seem to get them to work.

The T-18 coupler thingy when I use it, never fills in the bit around the engine. Sorry for my lack of the jargon lol.

It kinda depends on which decoupler you use on which engine. also, whack a bit of space tape in the noses of the 4 boosters up as high as they'll go on the central tank. it'll help with rigidity. also, lock the gyros on the booster engines, as they tend to fight each other

After a few exploding attempts, I got something into space. (Tip: do not only use solid fuel rockets) It went past Mun, then past Minnus (I think it's called) and ended up orbiting the sun at over 7000 m/s.
Now I have something in orbit of Kerbin, but it's out of fuel and didn't have a parachute anyway.
I'm enjoying this game, but I have a lot to learn.

    sorry,

As Kiwi said, space tape is struts. And I should have said gimbals not gyros, sorry. If you right click on an engine, if it has gimballing, it will give you an option to lock or unlock the them.

Just posting, for the next 5h 20 mins or so KSP is discounted to $13.79 USD on Steams summer sale.
Been waiting for this to go on sale, been playing with a (very) old free demo version, looking forward to the real thing.
PS the demo vers I have is 0.8.5, looks like the current steam vers is 0.20.2

Update 0.21 is up and running

Sadly, your savegames wont run. There's a convertor around somewhere.

BTW, on to more IMPORTANT things.

    [0.21.0] Docking Tutorial 1.0.0 | Kerbal SpacePort

This is an awesome tutorial on docking I would recommend newbies and 'pros' to give it a go.

    Awesome. Thanks for posting, Judge.
I will try it out in a minute, just waiting for the game to load up (that has not improved this build, I might add).

Just got some Kerbals into space using one of the pre-built rockets, unfortunately they just kept going, in orbit around the sun now, not Kerbal. Does Oxygen run out? :(
