I’ve been gaming since Kings Quest came out on my old Pentium (with a 20 meg hard drive... yep... 20 meg). I was a COBOL coder back in the Y2K days and then went back to school to become a teacher. I admit that being able to tell students that I was the Archmage in Skyrim did get me a lot of ‘cred’ when I first started teaching intermediates (grade 7/8). I’m actually interested in several different types of games and have played Skyrim (Elder Scrolls On-line), Conan Exiles, Minecraft, No Man’s Sky and WOW (off and on but tire of the grind). I even dabbled with Fortnite when it was first popular so that I could talk with my students about it. I’m not as fast as my teenage son and his group so I feel like I’m just holding them back, though they have been kind to me. I read another post that defined FPS as first person shot and feel very much the same way. By the time I figure out how to play and draw my gun and choose the right stance, I am shot by the experts with 1000 hours under their belt. This has stopped me from trying many different games I’m afraid. I would like to try FPS games but don’t know where to start or how to find friendly people to play with so I found this group in hopes of finding servers/games that would appeal to me and kind people to join up with for some fun gaming.
