no... all horsies are not equal... the pegasus is far superior, the unicorn next and the boring horses are the plebs Flying - I need to improve the hoop design and/or the course... it's a bit tricky to get the pegasus to go through if the angle is not right.... I think I need to either increase the size of the hoops (I tested making it 1 block wider on the one I had problems with, and it worked) or lay them out in more of a straight line (though that would be boring)... and I went searching for sheep, so I might have enough to make yellow (faux gold) hoops now. I'm very tempted to make the last hoop out of burning logs Interestingly, in my hunt for sheep, I found a unicorn. I had iron ore and a couple of leathers, but the unicorn had spawned with some lions and other horses... so I quickly made a furnace, made iron ingots, killed the other animals to get the rest of the leather I needed, made a saddle... and wondered if taming a unicorn without any wheat or sugarcubes was possible.... yes it was! fairly easily too (only bucked me off about 5 times) - then it took me like 15 mins to get them both back home, having to take them in stages - taking one closer to home, walling it in, walking back to get the other, taking it further and walling it in...
How do you tell if a horse is sterile? I made the floor in my stable from pink wool blocks... it's soft and cute.
feed it pumpkin - if it takes it, its fertile, if nothing happens, its sterile. I think mushroom soup works just as well.
yeah, pumpkins. The problem with the soup is (I think, judging by the posts on the forum) is if the horse doesn't eat it, you might... so you'd have to do it with full health) I'd thought at first that after breeding both were sterile, but reading the forums recently it's been said only one of the breeding pair will go sterile... so you can feed them pumpkins to see which one is sterile. I was worried I'd never find enough, since pumpkins and mushrooms are really rare (for me at least).... but the new world I opened for this mod, I'm finding pumpkins everywhere (I found a pocket of 15 pumpkins last night)... and I've found several patches of mushrooms where there will be like 10 just sitting on the ground (as if already "picked").... and also luckily, I had a problem with the world a few days ago (I was trying to find new land to go lapis mining and it kept crashing when I went back)... so after googling what the error message was, and seeing somneone say theirs was caused by corrupted blocks... I ended up having to use a world editor to delete the effected chunks (which I saw, the chunk hadn't rendered evenly, it was like swiss cheese) so I figured at the same time I'd trim down the world so I could lessen the space it took up (which it didn't, strangley the folder stayed the same size)... so now I am able to re-find some of the pumpkins I'd found before! haha
ok, last one and then I'll stop posting about horses Ohh, and while I think of it.... there is currently a glitch in the Mo creatures mod, where you craft a haystack from 6 wheat (2 rows, which can be fed to a horse to make it stay still for a while and not wander off)... but if you put the haystack in the crafting slot, you'll get 9 back. But that's going to be fixed in the next update... so if you want to exploit it, best do that now
