So they say.
I nearly fell off my seat when I saw the MW3 ad for $99! With steam becoming more and more commonplace though this is only going to become even MORE common.
The only thing I can think of is to become very good friends with a fellow US or even NZ togger and ask them to gift it to you, and pay them for their troubles!
Luckily I'm no fan of MW games, but I may need to befriend someone in the US or NZ soon for other up coming games.
Its pretty sad though... The one way us aussie gamers could get back at all those distributors for their ridiculous prices and now thats going down the toilet!
No Kess, there is another.
Don't buy it.
Don't think it will be that easy.
It should be, this is just more of the same....same crap different year.
People seem to like the same crap year after year, I guess its the different smell that attracts them.
$55 @ OzGameShop btw.
Call Of Duty 8 Modern Warfare 3 Game PC - ozgameshop.com
Agreed Zee. Not seeing anything really new other than their attempts to stick both hands in my pockets instead of just one with not even the promise of a reacharound..
Will be the first COD that I'll miss and I even endured MW2's IWnet (which, apart from the matchmaking system and having to host a server on our crappy upload limits provided some excellent gameplay).
Myself I've been waiting until they hit the bargain bin. Just picked up COD:MW2 for like $24.
I grabbed MW2 a few weeks back when it was $14 on impulse, played half an hour before I was bored to tears and haven't touched it since
I have a suspicion about the Oz Game Tax. The guilty party/parties may not be the publishers, rather a combination of the lack of R18+ and the big retailers (EB games, JB HiFi) here in Australia/New Zealand forcing Steam etc to set their prices the same as local retailers or restrict sales. Both UK and US Amazon seem to have no problem accepting orders and shipping these games here.
On the UK direct2drive site, I was looking at Rage and this line caught my attention.
"This product will be available for purchase worldwide, excluding Australia and New Zealand."
Suggesting Direct2Drive wont differentiate their price, so they can't accept orders from here.
I thought the R rating issue was sorted out?
Another re-skined Call of Duty title......they can keep it for that price. Why dont they just sell us a cheap DLC pack for MW2 with the new maps. RORT..
