Odd, I didn't know Sega scored the AvP IP. I hope it doesn't suck as much as the 2nd AvP game. I still hold a candle out for a true successor to the original, it was awesome.

The original AvP comic was really awesome, the first movie was ok, held some similar themes but was notably different. The second AvP movie was just bollocks hollywood awful.

Three faction multiplayer pvp would be an interesting new dynamic. The trouble will be in balance, Aliens don't really have long ranged weaponry like marines or predators.

The multiplayer in the original AvP was totally awesome. The aliens were wicked fast and could run on any surface as well as see the humans easily in the dark (humans had halo glows ala Left 4 Dead). They had a pretty massive advantage, all the humans had were motion sensors but smart players could use that to their advantage too. Also, it wasn't uncommon to play matches with several marives vs a single alien.

Did they play out alright? That kind of alien does sound like fun to play; I always liked a challenge. =P

Playing the Alien was nausea-inducingly fun. I think the original AvP is one of the few games that I had to stop playing late at night since it scared the crap out of me :D One of those games where you have the "it's right behind me" feeling...

Here's a video of the first level playing the alien.

Sadly he has god mode on thus he's not playing properly, but you get the idea. Total headspin.

Thanks Drac, I get the idea; does look like a lot of fun.

God mode, when you're not good enough to do it for real!

They're going to be bringing this game to E3, hope it has some tasty new info and video footage for us, particularly gameplay. :) :)

Agreed. The original game was awesome, and spooky at night. But there was nothing like hearing Marine gunfire ;0

about 8 of us used to play AvP1 at a mates LAN awhile back... one of the best small LAN games around IMHO. So many laughs and "You Bastard!" moments :)
Our resident alien guy was very good at wiping out a room of marines and preds so I don't think there was too much unbalance between classes.

I never got past the first hour of SP. I had hit my head on the shelves behind me too many times from the frights so I gave up... just too scary for me :)

Definitely looking good. From what I've heard about the original, if the new one has even half of the atmosphere of the first it'll be a winner :)
