Hey Guys, not sure how many of you are running an ATi card let alone multi gpu setups but the new ATi driver for me has to be the best single update to a gfx driver in the history of ATi cards for me. This driver is simply an amazing step forward from my experience with previous updates.

I grabbed the 10.10 AMD Catalystâ„¢ Accelerated Parallel Processing (APP) Technology Edition driver package which was 92mb for Windows 7 64 bit along with the Application Profiles for 10.10.

Before installing I ran a 3D Vantage test and noted the results, then after doing the update I ran another test and was quite impressed tbh.

    10.9 driver - 3DMark - 22, 896 with GPU 24,191 & CPU 19, 821 - Default Tests

    10.10 driver - 3DMark - 24, 385 with GPU 26, 365 & CPU 19, 900 - Default Tests

    System - i7 920 @ 3.2Ghz, 6GB 1600Mhz on XMP P1, XFX HD5970BE 2GB, 3x 1920x1200 26" rendering 6048x1200 with BM in game.

In MoH my eyefinity fps went from 40 avg (15-18 low & 55-60 high) on most maps to around 90 avg (55-60 low & 140-160 but quite often capping out at 200)

I suspect there may of been some issues with my previous drivers as they were well known to be flakey at best, I previously updated from 10.8 to 10.9 with a simple install over the top method and they were fine for a while. Then after some issues I did a driver clean and reinstalled a fresh version of the 10.9 drivers about two weeks ago but, have not been able to run MoH on 3 screens since due to very low fps with lots of smoke and action on screen.

With this install I used the ATi Install Manager to remover the 10.9 then reboot and install 10.10 then reboot and all was well, my profiles remained intact and operational when switching between extended and eyefinity :D first time ever, only one issue I still have is my custom fan settings on my o/c do not kick in at boot up, I have to manually go into CCC and adjust the fan then apply and it kicks in :| a little frustrating at times but am living with it, everything else about this driver is FTW IMO :D

Yep, i had half a second of up there with the 4870x2 but havn't been able to update since 10.5 without crashing the computer and doing a forced rollback. Let's see if this one does the same.

i have to say the 6870 is very nice, the game was pretty unstable with crossfire 5770s.

for $290 i am very happy indeed

2 x 6870 appears to be a very reasonable xfire option atm :)

I will be happy with a 5870 to slot beside my 5970 and have 3 x gpu running 3 x monitors with enough vram to render my 6048x1200 res at rock solid fps, tbh the 5970 does the job well in most games but I do have one or two that could use the extra grunt :D
