    G'day

My name is Michael (meek), and I'd like to be a TOG.

I have read, understood and agree with your AUP and FAQ, which seem to indicate that TOG is the place for me. I'm lucky I stumbled onto your site, the boys in some of those other "clans" seem to be severely overcompensating for something or another.

I'm 34 and gainfully (?) employed, although I probably have a emotional age of around 17. I live in Alice Springs, and my mates and I have monthly-ish LAN game session in our Super LAN Shed - freezing our arses off in winter and roasting during the summer. I'd like to get involved in a Wolf ET team if at all possible. I'm a fairly middling player - I'm the Engie who repairs the tank but gets completely perforated in the process - but I'd like to get some online action, have a bit of fun and hopefully improve a bit.

I've just got broadband and I'm a almost total newbie when it comes to online games/abbreviations/communities/forums etc, so apologies in advance.

Anyhoo, I hope you accept my application.

    Cheers

    meek

PS Can anyone recommend a good headphone/mic set? Logitech? Sennheiser? USB? Noise cancelling? Voice activation?

    Hey Meek,

About the best application I have seen in a while, everything covered off and a great intro, should be TOGerised as soon as the next admin trundles along in his walking frame.

Once a member you will have access to the privateforums, one for each game and then some. In those forums are all the info on comms, who to contact to start gaming etc. TOG certainly has a good bunch of guys in ET.

As far as headphones / mic, I use Sennheisser HD555 earphones and a Logitech USB desktop mic. First started with a mic headset combo but kept getting the mic dunked in my red wine . Noise cancelling are great if you have a lot of background noise but I still like to hear if the kids are killing each other. All personal preference really.

Anyway mate, welcome, hope you enjoy your stay at TOG :D .

    Hi Meek,

Glad you finally made your way down here.

Everyone else has already told you where to go so i won't. Hope you enjoy our rather average but entertaining game-play. :D

    Welcome to TOG, Meek. :)

I see you've already met one of our unofficial TOG-Greeters in the form of Jonty.

I've just made you a member, so get on into those private forums. The ET boys will look after you, and organise one hell of an initiation ceremony.

Guys.. is it still the treacle and lesbians one? Or have you moved on to something new?

    Welcome to TOG Meek!

You and Mr. Flibble are welcome here.

I've used a cheap logitech headphone with Boom. The speaker died after a couple of weeks. I suggest purchasing a set with a warranty.

    Welcome to TOG Meek.

As for the headsphones thing I just use a $20 Pioneer job and a $5 mic. Does the job I reckon.
