Nintendo confirms Wii Motion plus available 11th June in Australia.
Wii sports resort will be released late July to mid August.
EA Sports's Grand Slam Tennis for Motion plus released 18th June in Australia

This should be great to use in addition with the release of Red Steel II later this year, for some great sword fights. Now all we need is a motion plus light sabre game from Lucasarts. :)

Shame they didnt have the foresight to actually have this as part of the standard inbuilt equipment on release as part of all wii remotes. Fail Ninty.. big fail

I wonder if the technology (at least being cost effective) was available when the Wii released?

To the best of my knowledge it wasnt far off, and its all well and good that they are replacing the existing model with it as inbuilt on the new remotes from whenever. Seems a bit of a cashcow tho atm.

True ... but any company that just keeps releasing the same games over and over again (and I keep buying them ... how many versions of Mario Kart do I need anyway ) has always had that stigma about them ;)

Exactly, the problem is, when they were near the end of the development cycle it became apparent that a lot of games in development at the same time that could have benefited from the tech became big fail as ninty were holding it back even after it was completed. See: Starwars Lightsaber Duels for Wii...

Its all forward now, new games should be coming out with motion plus support, now a prerequisite for my enjoyment on wii.

For me it is just a cheap add on offers a different experience of playing and should make some games more fun..

I use the wii infrequently for a different style of playing games. - Prob every second weekend it comes out to play a bit...

I will be a sucker and try sports resort and a few others that specifically benefit from the motion..

I personally can't wait for the PS3 version...

Red Steel 2 is looking to be a great title that will use the motion plus.

Besides any company that gets my wife into tight leggings for a wii fit or EA Active session gets my vote. ;)

As of its release they are gearing up to have it built standard into all future wii remotes rather than as a 'cheap addon' as it is at the moment.

I hope so. Hopefully then we'll see developers take advantage of this increased functionality in their future software releases.
