Myself and a teammate are looking for a group of fellow mature gamers that play military games (BF, DC, etc.) as a team. We are generally laid-back gamers, but without the horseplay and foofooraw typical of public servers. For example, waiting for a full load of grunts in the transport helo instead of taking off and ditching over enemy territory while your teammates shake their fists back at home base.

We have been playing computer games since Pong, with tastes varying wildly across the spectrum of FPS, RTS, RPG, and MMORPG, generally settling on those with strong multiplayer aspects.

We are located in the eastern U.S. and generally tend to play after the kids have retired for the evening and on the weekends (unless one of the wifeys has requested our husbandly duties).

I can confirm that I have read and concur with the AUP and the FAQ.

Welcome to the Asylum we like to call TOG. One of the Admins should be along soon to issue you with the regulation Zimmer frame and your overnight pad.

Although you didn't confirm it, I've assumed that you are over 25. No jury in the world would come to any other conclusion when you start throwing around terms like 'Pong', 'foofooraw' and 'husbandly duties' :D

So I've made you a member, welcome - you should now have access to the private forums. I know we have US squads active for Call of Duty and Battlefield Vietnam... not sure about any of the others (I used to know all these things, but TOG is too big now!).

Dive into the forums and have a sniff around. Just ask any questions you have in the appropriate forum, and you'll have a plethora of smartarse responses before you know it. :)

    Have fun!

NB. Your teammate will need to do a seperate introductory post...

I did indeed neglect to mention that I meet and exceed your minimum requirement by nearly a dog's age. Glad that the colorful language made me a shoo-in (and a standout).

While having played CoD, our game of choice is the Desert Combat modification for BF42. I'm sure we'll visit on occasion, however, granted you'll have us.

If one doesn't exist already, perhaps we could begin organizing an official division for DC for our area. Otherwise, we would be glad to go shoulder to shoulder with any existing group.

I currently run a fairly low-bandwidth server for smaller engagements, and am willing to use it during certain time periods for training missions, etc.

Looking forward to throwing brass with the lot of you!

Nope, TOG is pretty well decked out in the BF arena. The DC people have a private forum called:
    Battlefield 1942: Desert Combat
    - Where TOG plan their "Slack and Bore" campaign.
The person to see (DC Div Capt) is Dars183. He can kit you out and give you a uniform.

I think that you'll have a great time there, and more than welcome to join in a CoD game whenever you feel like it. :)

    sgt_friday,

Get yourself over to the BF forum too. We run 3 competitive teams from there.

Rounded experience, not bad behind a 75mm cannon, decent piloting skills. Fairly decent ground pounder.

    That is all

    Welcome to TOG Sgt. Friday.

Here at TOG we don't wait for a full load of grunts in the transport helo take off and ditch over enemy territory while your teammates shake their fists back at home base.

Rather, we wait for a full load of grunts in the transport helo, stop in at the pharmacy for some elderly type drugs, visit the local RSL for lunch, don our fluffy slippers and ditch over enemy territory while TK'ing our teammates. ^H^h^h^H^H^H^h^h^ I mean give the enemy hell! :D
