    Sweeeet! :)

Funny how three months ago I was struggling to think of five games I'm looking forward to, but now I struggle to think of which ones I'd put in my top five! Good for gaming!

Doc, that is truly incredible stuff! I've seen the trailer a dozen times now, but that E3 presentation almost frightens me - new PC for that one for sure!!!! :D

Never have I seen such attention to detail... Stunning.

This one with ARMA2 are the games in 2009 that I are gaining my interest.

They are saying a Winter release, I wonder if that is our winter or the Northern Hemisphere.

Almost always northern :( But yeah - this one has been well on my radar for a while now - I really hope it nails it's target. For me ArmA fell well short of greatness due to many factors. I'm guessing that they focussed so heavily on realism, that they forgot to factor in "enjoyment". I really hope that is at least part of the plan with OP2. I'm not hoping for an arcade game at all, but something lighter than ArmA (or at least more accessible) but deeper and more real than BF2.

    Lets hope...

Spec, while you wait there is always Red Orchestra... ;-)

Its a lot deeper than and real than any of the BF series, but still accessible.....

Yeah, I've got it - but I think the root of the problem is I'm just not interested in WWII for games. The bestest war game I've ever really sunk my teeth into properly (and still love) is the Desert Combat mod for BF:1942. Perfect blend of action, fun and difficulty. One of the few games that's made everything instantly accessible, but VERY difficult to master. Normally either very hard to pick up, or too easy to "master".

OFP2 has the promise of satisfying my lust for modern weaponry, combining it with teamwork, steep challenge and VERY pretty graphics! :)

I agree. The PCPP quote from post #1 should keep you interested as it did for me.

I still prefer the open-ness of OFP to BF2/Codx/whatever and will wait to see if OFP 2 is what AmrA should have been.

Spec - ArmA lost me with the heli flight sim modelling - no to mention the sawdling site when lying prone.
