yeah Dragon i had 1500 + hrs in BF2 and yet to see very much of that at all ... i used to watch in amazement at people running into a arty strike .. clearly shown on map .. nothing to do with commander it was more the Pizza Hut kiddies not having a clue

I usually buy both series except I stopped after COD4 modern warfare , it was tinny maps and the spam that put me off , however the cutom maps that could be made and modded was a huge bonus.

Bfbc2 , big maps and required a big more skill than just throwing a grenade any where to get a kill or 3 , the lack of modding support to create new maps or mods was a huge negative since it was based on a console.

One day they might get it rite.

Yeah TOGs totally don't TK each other ever... who was that last weekend who accidentally tossed a grenade inside the closed elevator as they were going up with his squad in Brink? :p

And here's my thought from last night watching the intro vids for all of the Battlefield games...

BF:1942 was the main release - same engine saw the release of BF:Vietnam.
BF2 was the main release - same engine saw BF:2142
BF3 is going to be the main release... what next??

The second game is typically released with about 18 months of the main release. It'll be interesting to see what's in the pipeline.

I'm really hoping to see some proper late-80's combat. The weapons are more simplistic, less robotic and more direct. Most of us here would have seen Top Gun a few hundred times... It could essentially be Desert Combat, but done with licensed music giving it one hell of a soundtrack!

Yes yes and yes. That would be awsome. Sounds like a good idea for a mod

BF2 had expansion packs :- Special Forces and European Vacation before 2142 hit ... but seeing it is DLC now .. i imagine their will be a add-ons to this special forces in Afghanistan or Iraq scenario... maybe back to home based fighting..

Seeing this is so close to the Afghan / Iraq wars i think they might even have different countries you can play as .. will appeal to more player base to play as your own country spec op

US Spec Forces .. Delta or Seals etc..
    Aust .. SASR
    UK .... SAS

You've already predicted it dude. The three other arenas; WW2, recent-past, fairly-future.

You've already sold me on the idea. So it must be true. Don't disappoint me now!

I wouldn't object to any of them and I'd love them in that order. I enjoyed 2142 at the time but it would have been my least favorite of the franchise.

    Your kidding!?!?!

I LOVE the BF3 Intro. A bit of Terminator with a hint of Transformers in it. That intro tune gives me goose bumps!

The Orchestra made intro's were always amazing and would be good to see them again.

I once got into trouble at home when my wife overheard me telling my squad that I was hiding in the bushes and that they should all come and spawn on me.........

You could totally add that old school theme with the Terminator/Transformer feeling it it. For me they have just done soooo many games with it. Just bring it back and bad ass it up. Make it metal or something.

yep agree with above bf2 theme on metal steroids

If I hadn't listened to that bloody song waiting for it to load for so long, it probably would sound okay. :)
