Hmm, Bioware + KOTOR + Massive World (Galaxy?) + MMO shenanigans = Epic win!! Star Wars: The Old Republic revealed - PC News at GameSpot I'm imagining massive Sith on Jedi action. Sweet. Edit: and here's the official site http://www.swtor.com/ any interest in a TOG guild?
yeah, this is the stuff I want, hopefully they will incorporate space combat as well like SWG:JTL did.
I hope they do crafting justice, instead of just wedging it in somewhere. Space combat sounds good too.
I actually liked the SWG crafting and how you got resources. Plus the ability to literally mine the ore to building your whole ship was very cool.
Woot! This SWG refugee is happy. Cant wait for a release date. Rubicon: Yes I will be interested in a TOG Guild for it!
I checked out the webpage. The screenshots looks like the game is glose to open beta. From the sounds of everything they are finalizing details of some of the mechanics. Official information is only going to be released when they know it is going to work. I will check the website from time to time and post up any good info. I am sure others will as well.
I know Gamespy had their release date in Dec 2011, so who knows. That was probably wishful thinking. They did say they had a playable game and I believe they have been writing for about 5 years. In any case, I don't want to get too excited and up my expectation levels too high so that I am disappointed. If they just do something a bit better than SWG I will be very happy.
Not me at the moment. I think I am the only one in the world that could not force (pun intended ) myself to spend much time at all with the first KOTOR. Had no interest in the 2nd one so never got it. No real interest in this one either now that some info has come out. I will still keep an eye on to see how things shake out, but for the foreseeable future, EQ II and DCUO are the only things out and/or announced that interest me.
Roger Roger! Get ready for another slew of people shooting lightning bolts out of their hands and defying gravity on a whim... They so should have stopped the Starwars fiction after The Empire Strikes Back, it just went down hill after that and it's getting more and more ridiculous the more stuff they keep tacking into it. Well, ok, Return of the Jedi wasn't too bad, and I could probable overlook the whole shoointg lightning bolts thing if it was just a one-off in that movie alone, but they put it in episodes 2 and 3 and every other starwars game that's let you be a jedi. All the force leaping and pushing crowds over and stuff, it's just too much, they turned the force into super powers. It's like they felt a need to out-do the first movies by scaling up the power, but that was never why people loved it, it was better when it was really subtle and only gave a Jedi a slight edge over the rest except in extreme circumstances but at some point though the games, the books, the comics etc every jedi became full blown super heroes. After that it lost it's mystery and became, well, not as fun. I may still play it, KOTOR was a fun game, I just wish they'd stop going overboard with the silly jedi crap. It's really not necessary and mostly it just gets in the way.
