I can't find anything if region locks are still in force after the Steam release, is it still locked?

Steam has it as buyable but I currently live in Thailand, although I still retain Australian income and banking.
I know I can purchase some games with my Aussie CC and then be blocked at download, occurred a couple of times so far.

Pretty sure region locks are still in place. Steam is just the gateway to the game so the servers are still the same (although they did add some for the release).

Logging into game might be a different matter though. If you're in Australia then you're OK anyway.

Have you considered a VPN? There is free ones available that can make it look like your in USA as far as most games are concerned..

Region locks are to do with licensing so unlikely they had them removed

But VPN will get you around it fairly easily. After all some of us played on the Korean server for a bit :D

You can try to use a VPN.
