28th? You won't have time for Dayz, TSW early access starts the 29th!

Thanks mate. I'm interested in Sins of a Solar Empire 2 and the Civ 5 expansion. Might wait and see.

Still no summer sale... This is quite unexpected but maybe that is part of the marketing hype.

Maybe everyone there was bored with the idea and too busy making videos in source filmmaker or playing DOTA2. No "Summer Sale" could actually be a blessing in disguise (to one's wallet and gaming backlog anyway).

The rumour going around now is it's the 12th after a comment from a dev of some indie game.

Although Gabe might be forced to start it sooner

They are most likely busy trying to get the Linux version of Steam launched - that and the Big Picture Mode for HDTVs (make your own Steam console). Both of which I'm really looking forward to (with Unity 4 now supporting native Linux builds too!).

Hopefully with BPM they'll also add more community features.

Why not just get the sale over and done with before launching steam for Linux. So what do we need to get Day Z up and running? Just Arma 2?

    I hope there's no sale.

So far these last weeks I've gone for L.A. Noire, 40k: Space Marine, and Dawn of War II + Chaos Theory. I've also been gifted Torchlight, and I should finish Magicka...

    I don't need more games!

You need Arma 2 Combined Operations (which includes Operation Arrowhead).

Thanks. So that is $30. It would be nice to get it for 50% off on the sale.

    Summer Sale bundles sneak peek

Considering Bohemia have just run a 25% off sale across a variety of digital stores including their own, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't see it any more than 25-33% off. Given the boost that Day-Z has given them I suspect they're probably a bit reticent to heavily discount it.

EDIT: Looks like it's still on sale over on their own store @ $24.74

That said a 50% off discount would likely get a number of people, you and I included by the sounds, to bite just to give Day-Z a try, without really having an interest in the underlying ARMA II game.

Also: A sneak peek of the Summer Sale bundles from the Steam registry:

There's a ticket to ride steam game?

    Interesting.

Mostly I'm waiting for discounted Walking Dead from Telltale. Day Z sounds interesting, but I've a feeling it simple sounds more fun than it really is - hated the demo of ARMA II - hinkey controls for an FPS.

I'm with you there Drac, it does look quite interesting. I was hoping to see a giveaway of episode one when they released episode two in an attempt to get a few more people on board (like they did with BttF). Would make it easier to hold out until it's on sale.

Rumours of the 12th might be right it seems, over the last 30 mins many items on the store have just been updated with discounts ending on the 24th.

    Prepare your wallets.

EDIT: oooh, new badge system and we get to vote on sale items we want, different ones ever 8 hours. As well as deals lasting all day there's some that change every few hours. I think this one is really going to hurt my bank balance.

Also 20% off ARMA 2 and 25% off The Walking Dead, but I'll hold out and see if they have better daily deals.
