I think you can.. although i used the mmorpg downloads site. You select servers when you create a family and all that.

I'm not positive, but I'm thinking the pre-open beta of "Grenado Espada" that we're in has different servers than the Fileplanet version of "Sword of the New World".

Yes, and here is the way to get that beta key now and the SotNW download now.
Sword of the New World on FilePlanet - Home
I'm downloading the client now and have my open beta key.
They are completely seperate games and server systems. That was a bit confusing at first. I was playing one and didnt look into the other much.

Some of us have been discussing this. The Asian servers work just fine and we like the game there... to include the ability to camp afk for periods of time (up to lvl 50) The problem is the community is mostly 80%? non english speaking. (even on the english server)
The new western servers will of course have populations that speak english (except for the gold farmers). So maybe we just need to play the western one,(downloading it now) and then decide.

Ok, well...I'm just gonna install one then and play on the Fileplanet version on the Vesp.... server. I think IJS started out over there before moving. (oops was Nightlife)

I kind of like the auto-camping feature, but then again part of me laughs because I'm playing a game that I'm not actually playing.. lol.

The graphics have been tweaked in the NA version (2.01?).

Cesario (sp) is EMPTY! Wow, it's like a ghost town so far. It's a different game when you don't have overlapping groups battling for every square inch of space. I suppose that will change after this weekend.

I got the western version running. I'm on the server that starts with Cesario :p less crowded. Family name Bloodless. It's weird getting the attacks to work like I'm used to but if your in a spot and hit hold button then you will stay and auto fight

You can still activate Defend Mode yourself in the US one, but you can't have it auto activate (select to run somewhere and it turns on when you stop) until a patch comes out. While you could afk level that way, you can't auto pick up at the same time, so you won't have any cash for the higher level stuff. Have 3 family members at lvl 19 now.

The 3 channels on a server can be pretty confusing for a while, but at least if an area is camped, you have 2 other channel choices to switch to.

Been mucking about in Cesario as the Jaetori family. Decent gameplay, laughable translations.

The repetitive gameplay finally got to me. Hit a bit of a wall just after level 20ish. The pve gets old in a hurry. (Didn't try the PvP, so I don't know how well they did that aspect.)

I don't see picking up the full game as it's not engrossing enough. An entertaining diversion for a bit, though.

I got my familly up to lvl 44 then stopped, there will be a character wipe when this goes live so it's pretty much pointless to go on now. I like the game so far though, i'll probably be giving this a shot once it goes P2P
