I just had this thought today. I would like to see an MMORPG based on the Dragonriders of Pern books by Anne McCaffrey. I'm not sure how the specifics would work, but I think that the world and its story would be an interesting basis for a game.
My mum has been wishing that for ages now the Pern series would have to be her fav books (She names all her game characters off the books lol) It would work - crafters, fighters, entertainers, all sorts of things =) I should shut up now lol but I LOVE the idea! -Murrh-
wishing I've been wishing that for ages. I love the Pern books. What a great game it would make, and now that they have such beautiful graphics in games, now is the time to do it. Do we have a few million Dragonriders readers who are also PC gamers and could throw in a dollar or two, and we could make it ourselves.LOL Oh don't I wish.
Makes me wonder if there is somewhere that idea can be pitched. I feel all motivated to send emails to multiple game developers or go to their forums and post.
I wouldnt mind a Pern MMO, that would be pretty cool. That goes right up there on my wish list with a Ghostbusters MMO.
LOL, I never thought of a Ghostbuster MMO. That would be great. The kids these days wouldn't get it though.
It would be a fabulous game that's for sure! However knowing Anne McCaffrey's possessiveness about her work I REALLY doubt that she'll allow a game to be made off her books. Heck, she won't even let artists or writers do fan art/fiction.
lol An MMO based on the Tad Williams Otherland Series could be cool and a bizarre twist of being in a virtual world inside a virtual world.
