I'm glad to see you using Blood and Guts. I worked on that one. You'll find my name (Charles Baize) in there a couple of times.
I used to play PnP RPG's a long time ago ('90-98ish), and I have to say - PC games just don't compare, even the latest and greatest MMO's. I miss PnP so much!!! If anyone knows of any mature PnP RPG groups getting around the Central - SE/E/NE Suburbs of Melbourne please shoot me a PM.
It took me a long time to embrace the MMOs... I cut my teeth on AD&D and never wanted to look back - and the thought of trying to actually role play on a computer was just silly to me (still is, sorta - but I've decided it's fun). Sorry - best I can offer is a friend who recently located to New Zealand :???:
About to kick off in a game of D&D 3.5 with a bunch of guys who've only ever played 2nd Edition AD&D before so they're about to be introduced to the world of the D20 system. which I really like. I've also recently caught up with a mate who I was playing straight 3rd Ed with a few years ago and I've been offered a spot in a test game of D&D 4.0
It's possible you might also enjoy Modern Backdrops. This is a book that my wife (and fellow TOGger [Yrsa is her nick], no less) wrote, and I edited.
With the power of skype and openrpg, there are many possibilities of roleplay for even the most geographically isolated person.
Hey! That's me! Hehe I've thrown together a True 20 game for my son that we call "Adventures of Doom" and it is basically Indiana Jones. He loves it.
Currently i play L5R (Legends of the 5 Rings) and Ars magica used to play Star Wars D6 DnD 3.5 and a few others...
Never played a PnP game. Closest I got was buying the Source books for Necroscope when they 1st came out, but had nobody to play with and I really couldn't be bothered learning how to play either. Soon however I will be trying out Deadlands. Bunch of comics during Melb Com Fest are getting together each week on their night off for a few games and I got invited along. Trying to make a Martial Artist from the source books I got hold of, but I really don't want to read it all. Going to be a daunting 1st game when we get together in Jan for a test run.
i don't have any idea what PnP is?Can any one tell me what is that thing all i know is RPG and MMORPG like Atlantica online, rohan,Cabal,Luminary online, and Ragnarok.
PnP stands for Pen and Paper, though I tend to just say "tabletop" when I mean RPGs that use dice and books and several friends. Edit: And since this is the "what are you currently playing" thread, I've been playing 3.5 Edition D&D for the past 4 years and I'm also playing in and running 4th Edition games.
Since starting this thread my gaming has changed a bit. I'm now currently playing - Deadlands Phudge, (Deadlands using a modified verion of Fudge rules system) - Necessary Evil. Just started this. Savage Worlds Supers game with a twist. Played three sessions of Runepunk before this. Basicly Steampunk with a mix of magic. (Runepunk is now one of our fall back games. - Traveller Phudge (Traveller using a modified version of Fudge rules system) - Heroic Cthulhu (more pulpy version of Call of Cthulhu. Current campaign set in the near future. Play over skpye & this gets podcasted.)
Trying to start playing Burnout Paradise on the PC and it looks like I'm going to be forced to create yet another EA account as the 2 registered names I have on EA (after re-getting the details of those accounts) don't exist as far as the game is concerned. Oh I hate this log in crap and game registration.
