We all play Multi-Player games here but I'm interested in peoples top five Single-Player fist-person-shooters. I don't mind spending a few hours occasionally on a single player game. My favourites in order are 1. Call of Duty: United Offensive 2. Unreal 2 - The Awakening 3. Medal of Honor Allied Assault 4. Unreal 5. Vietcong EDIT: CoD-UO has taken first place
Edit: oops missed the single player part , I haven't finished a SP game since I got cable which is 4 or 5 years ago.
Hmm, 1 COD, 2 Americas Army Online, 3 Ghost Recon. OOH almost for got Raven Shield Six 3 Have always been rather partial to RTS though.
Including XBox? 1. Halo 2. Halo 2 3. Half Life 2 4. No One Lives Forever 2 umm, that's about it
Hmm single player... 1. FarCry 2. Call of Duty 3. Medal of Honor Allied Assault 4. SOF2 5. Raven Shield
Haven't played many. CoD single player was extremely good, that Russian section... wow. I have this vivid memory of playing Quake II single player once, never really picked it up again... but there was a feature that kicked the disc in the CD into life when the game was started? Was it Quake II? Or Doom II... anyway I was wandering around and this eerie, melodic music kicked in... I'm thinking, damn that's good music for a PC game! It was my copy of Radiohead, "OK Computer". Sliding into "Paranoid Android"... Thom Yorke growling When I am king / You will be first against the wall... Perfect music to play a gloomy, scary game to. Although I didn't play FPS for a long time after that, the feeling kind of stuck with me. Wierd...
in no particular order COD - good SP SOF2 - good MP FarCry - good graphics Duke Nukem 3D - classic Unreal Tournament - fast
I know it's not a favourite around here but 1 CS Condition Zero 2 Farcry 3 Painkiller 4 Halo 5 Doom 3
I used to play these all the time: Ghost Recon Raven Shield Thief (1 then 2) Medal of Honor Allied Assault Hitman Post number 500 woohoo!
Don't get the same kick from single player games now I've discovered online play, but back then it was. 1. Medal of Honour Allied Assault 2. Doom II 3. Battlefield 1942 4. Wolfenstein 3D (my first fps) 5. Serious Sam (great fun)
1. Halo 2. Battlefield 1942 3. Ghost Recon 4. Enemy Territory (cause i love being an Engineer) 5. Desert Combat Mod for BF 1942
Doom Series Rainbow 6 FarCry Unreal Tournament - Would have to agree with Mad on this one... I love the orginal. Great Game. And the last one is from the Consoles- Metroid Prime (Gamecube)
1. CoD! (what a surprise) 2. Dooms (1 and 2, only just started playing 3 tho) 3. Quakes (1 and 2) How could anyone go past the original Dooms for classics? I remember playing Doom on a 486 and thinking 'Wow! This is great and the graphics rock!' And the atmosphere... Deathly quite a lot of the time except for the occational electrical buzzing, and then WHAM! - a screach, a scream, the WHOOSH of a fire ball being flung from behind or the sudden opening of a wall spilling hundreds of ghoul-like aliens at you, all of them suddenly screaming for your blood... Ohhhh, I miss the heart-stopping, thumping, wrenching, ball-raising, head moving, flinching excitment of the early Dooms. Something a lot of games these days seem to be missing; seemingly exchanging this for the fastest, best, clearest graphics.
The only 2 games I finished, without cheating were Wolfenstein 3D, Commander Keen and Doom, many moons ago. 8)
Very few for me as I have a preference in the past for strategy games, but they are; Castle Wolfenstein 3D as it had revolutionary graphics for me at the time. Rise of the Triad as it could support MP. It also was another from ID.
