    The laughs along the way.
    The comraderie of competition play.
The respect of another team, for a match well played (win or loss).

    to pass time
to kill people and blow stuff up (legally)
and most of all to have fun. planting a claymore on a camper's face and watching them blow themselves up trying to run away is just epic =]

if you use a sledge hammer and time it right..you smack an enemy so they go head first and they smash the wall if you hit them hard enough..just add that with a barrel on the other side of the wall and for some reason it explodes lol:D

I deal with "the real world" all day, every day. I work in a busy and loud office dealing with all sorts of people out in society. What I really want when I get home, is about the opposite of that.

Sure there's a massive range of people and personalities here in TOG, but it's more like hanging with mates than mingling with strangers :) So I game. I prefer games that are far removed from my day to day life, to experience (in some sort of way) something totally different.

Often I'll pilot a ship around in the EVE universe. Sometimes I'll just go driving through the streets of Liberty City listening to Liberty Rock Radio in GTA4 - or go head to head with some good friends playing Call of Duty 4.

I game out of interest, I game out of excitement. I game because I like it.

I usually get, 'Do you have to be doing that now ? '

or 'you're always on the computer'

I'm not actually, I explain to her. I also spend most of my other spare time drunk and chasing younger women.:p

Right now I am living in a house with 6 girls. My wonam and her 2 girls, 2 grand-daughters & my 9 month old daughter. They take over the whole house, so I use gaming as a getaway.

I game because I like to. There is a social aspect. Being a single parent and doing uni by external I don't get to meet very many adults in my day-to-day doings. My sister rings every day so I can say I've talked to an adult today :p So jumping online and playing is the biggest part of my social calendar. I enjoy the company. Especially at night when the kids are in bed and the house gets v e r y quiet.

I also enjoy the adrenalin rush. The heart pounding 'omg wtf?!!!' moments. The thrill of finally getting it right and doing some good. Having my team-mates laugh at me when I stuff up totally or cheer me when I do get it right. Getting that absolute wizz-bang-flash HUGE AXE!! ....and going to a main town to stand around and show it off :D Helping out others.

    It's fun.

I game to unwind after a long day, sometimes just for the hell of it, mainly though it is the social side of it, I can remember a few times recently on a TF2 server that had all talk active we chatted for about 10 minutres before we actually started playing, it was pretty funny actually because some of us for got to kepp moving and got disconnected for being idle.

To break the stress, working whole day bore me. So I get online chat with some ingame friends and a little PK too.

Here is the reasons i game:
    I enjoy it.
Its better to kill people online then to do it at work :)
I belong to the best community on the web.
What better way to have fun then to kill your friends, over and over again, or in my case get killed by your friends over and over again :)
    Great stress reliever.
Being a single parent myself (11yr daughter, god help me these next few years could be ruff, think i need to buy a gun, a really big one) i don't get out a lot and my kid takes priority so i stay home and play games with my friends (new and old), it a great way to interact socially and still be right there if my kid needs me.

Everything in life is but an experience. Games offer experiences, just like everything else we do, but there is something unique about the types of experiences or feelings that games facilitate. Unique and new challenges, responsibilities, accomplishments and friendships. That's why I game.
