Wildstar got revealed on Gamescon this week.

Carabine have been working on this game secretly for 4 years now and this is the first we hear of it (at least the first I hear of it) and they have some of the biggest names in MMO producers aboard.
People say "is this what's going to take over for WoW?" and them selves say they are working on a MMO that will give the players a MMO experience they never have seen before.

    WildStarâ„¢ | Home

As for beta sign up you have an option to list if your in a guild where other players might be interested in join for the beta as well and you have to list the leader of the guilds(communitys) name and e-mail.
Which one of you MMOer captians/division leader are willing to look into this game and maybe coordinate a forum thread for this game?

Hope more TOGers will be interested in this said-to-be "THE new MMO" :)

    Nerf dual wield!

Hopefully they release some gameplay footage, I always prefer that over cinematics. Also I wish the genre could grow up from ridiculous chick models.

I liked the trailer and art style; the preview from Gamesreactor sounded somewhat promising at least.

But it will still be a long time until they are ready I think, other games to play before they get closer to release.

    OMG, they stole my brain!!!

Well, not all of it. They totally usurped my art treatment and even the name of the game I'm currently working on. Well, one of the potential names anyway - Wildstar Run was at the top of my list, my doodle game title was even done with similar lettering, luckily I have a list and hadn't totally fallen for any particular name, still, Wildstar was warming to me. Not that it matters, my game isn't even remotely an mmo, more in-space/planetary and less character focused, I doubt I'll change anything after seeing this but when I first clicked though I had a total Starship Troopers brain-sucking-bug moment, haha.

Suffice to say, I love the art style of this. Not sure I'll ever play it as I'm really not an MMO fan but damn, I could flick through that concept art all day. Also reminds me of creature box (done by two artists at Insomniac Games of Ratchet & Clank fame - grungy yet retro space stuff ect)

Wildstar Beta - come one, come all

I'm signing for Beta as well.

I'd love to see a buncha TOG show up to that. This game looks quite interesting.

I'll let you know if I get in.

Anyone heading up a Division for this one?

    Rock on,
    ~Zav (aka Nicodemeus)

    Some good info in here:

One of the things mentioned in the article is race/factions. They will be keeping the two faction model, but making sure there are comparable aesthetic races on both side. Or that every side gets a pretty race and big badass race; I do like they gave humans to both side specifically to keep faction imbalance down.

Looks promising, I'll grant it that. I swore, after Aion, I wouldn't touch another game with NCSoft attached to it, but I might just do it for this game. The art style alone made me look twice, so... we'll see.

I saw NCSoft and some Asian writing. That was enough to put me off.

Carbine does appear to be releasing through NCsoft they are not an NCsoft game or an asian game.

Its well better to use their own words:

From what I've heard a large amount of them are former Blizzard employees.

Think it shows in the art style somewhat of the game actually.

Looks interesting but I'm hitting saturation atm. So many games on my dance card (even discounting beta's I'm already in)...

As awesome as this looks, has there been any new MMO in the last 5 years without this sort of talk?
