worms

the original one, or maybe not the original one but pretty much the first one. I am so after trawling the interweb trying to find it. Seems to be unavailable team 17 refer to it but you can't buy it. Anyone have any ideas where I could get a copy of this classic?

You could possibly hunt down the Amiga ROM of the original, but not sure if that's entirely legal

 

Well I certainly wouldn't want to do anything illegal.

I would actually happily pay out for it, but one way or the other I want a copy of that game again. It's the original sort of PC version that I want and I cant seem to find it anywhere.:cry:

 

Your best bet would be to keep an eye out on Ebay, I've picked up quite a few older games from there myself.

 

I picked up a copy of Worms World Party, at EB for about 15 bucks or so a while back. IMHO it is the best incarnation of the game really.

 

If you get yourself a 360 you can get it off of Xbox live there. The version is in Full HD so still looks good on larger TV sets.

They did a budget re-re-release of it a while ago... I gave mine away when I got Worms 2.
Also look for Worms United, as it's Worms 1 plus an expansion pack.

 

I only mentioned WWP as it uses the worms 2 engine and has a buttload more features. I guess I just love the more chunky graphics.

Getting marginally off topic, on a scale of one (easy) to 10 (no chance) how hard would it be to take worms and make it online so I can play with some old mates who are 12,000 miles away? I'm guessing 8 (there's a way but it'll cost)

 

I dunno how the worms 1 engine games go for online play, I was only ever able to play share the keyboard for those. All the worms 2 and later w2/wwp/3d etc allow connection to wormnet or whatever its called for online play. I have played wwp online before a cpl times

 

Ayayay! Fix that! Best to play it with a friend in front of the same computer.
