    Hi All,

What is it with these Bettens' brothers? One is plain nasty and the other, Rich, keeps mentioning something about kicking me in the balls. It seems related to joining TOG. Is this some sort of initiation ceremony?

That said, I would actually quite like to join TOG. Read the FAQ. I come in as above average on the age (32). I remember playing games on the ZX81, but I quickly moved on to the BBC micro. Halcyon days. Just finished SWG Beta. Cool game btw. Buy it when they finally release it to us non-Americans. You won't regret it. Otherwise I play BF1942, Soldier of Fortune and a little DX2.

Now has anyone told you about the crafting in SWG?

    Phlebus.

a.k.a. Adrian Lee somewhere in Singapore.

Welcome to TOG, sounds like you have been getting it ruff from your brothers. Only one thing for it, get them in 1942 and frag their arses!

Enjoy your stay at TOG :D

They're not my brothers, but apparently they're quite happy to inflict violent acts on non-family members. Presently they are both in Singapore so Aus is getting a little bit of a holiday. You may have noticed a feeling of security and well-being returning to Aus in the last few days.

How does the joining TOG thing work? I'm registered, but do I need to be voted in or something?

Send an email to Father stating you understand and have read the FAQ.

He'll add you to the members groups and that's it. :)

Then sign up to the appropriate division captains you want to play the games in and they'll add you into those areas respectively.

Rickety was persuaded by Shunt to join TOG because Shunt threatened to kick him in the nuts if he didn't join. Rickety's just taken up on that responsibility because Shunt is a little MIA at present.

    Ro-sham-bo! (sp?)

edit - oh and welcome. :p

Derelict, many thanks for the info and the welcome. I will send that email now.

Manic35, you will be pleased to hear that Crux has succumbed to my prowess in 1942 and SWG. The duel in SWG was particularly gratifying, while he tried to take me out with his best crafted pistol, I ripped him apart with my bare hands. I should have made a screenshot. Fool.

To be fair, he normally wipes the floor with me in 1942, but who cares I'm one for one in SWG.

    Welcome, Phlebus.

Of course. Derelict neglected to mention that he also threatened me with the old boot-to-family-jewels schtick to get me to join TOG..

..well, that's it for you then. Once you're in, there's no escape.

I go to coffee and whoa what a welcome. Thanks.

About my SWG Beta characters. I have played a few, but the one I developed the most started off as a combo brawler/marksman/medic/scout/artisan. If you want to know about entertainer you will have to ask Crux. He was perfectly willing to dance/strip (avatar was female) for any passing Zabrak. He seemed to enjoy it. Can't say I understood the attraction myself.

Anyway, back to my combo. The reason for starting off with so many professions was simply that you can (if you don't like a profession you can untrain it later and get back your skill points). I also fancied testing the Smuggler profession, but they did a player wipe just before they fixed the smuggler trainer. lol. Still I particularly enjoyed the crafting. I set myself up as an armoursmith and never looked back. It really got the money rolling in and the diversity of the required armour components meant that it was rarely a grind. I had more orders than I could fill simply by walking through town.

Before I go into too much detail. Let me think a little harder and write this up on the proper forum.

    Cheers one and all.

    Hey Phlebus, got your email.

With your credentials there is no way I can add you to TOG, I don't think we can handle it anymore.

Kidding, welcome aboard and adding you to the members group now!

Thanks Father. I am learning that a Bettens' recommendation is like a kick in the teeth.
